"Henny Nouwen supports and facilitates healing thru strengthening, therapeutic and somatic work.
Once I was diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia in 2009, also known as Spasmodic Torticollis, which took 2+ years, I experimented with several approaches, from alternative to “western”. This ‘disease’, I am discovering, takes a team and several angles to manage. Henny’s skills bring a hopeful opening toward ‘participatory active healing’. She targets somatic issues brought on by stress and anxiety; our fight or flight reflexes.

Henny Nouwen has been not just a massage therapist, but counselor and teacher to me. Through her deep understanding of the relationship between the body, mind, emotional energy, and consciousness, she has above all taught me to be an active participant in my own healing process. She has not just gifted me with temporary relief; it has been lasting. After suffering from multiple neck issues that resulted in chronic headaches, she made me aware of some stored energy, or emotional charge, in my body. With her kind, gentle guidance, and understanding of body mechanics and posture, I was able to understand ways which I was unconsciously reacting to internal and external situations and holding tension and my breath in and from parts of my body. The tension and pain I once experienced on a daily basis has practically disappeared. I no longer suffer from once daily headaches. It has actually been months since I’ve had one! After years of living in a state of pain, I was surprised that I could feel so good in my body. Henny led me to the root of the physical issue. The process wasn’t what I expected at all, but I am so glad I trusted her. Her knowledge of energy, yoga, and philosophy is such a gift that has enhanced my own yoga practice and wellbeing. Henny humbly serves people in such a beautiful way. If you want to bring healing into your body and life, Henny is the person to have in your corner.
