Henny Nouwen has been not just a massage therapist, but counselor and teacher to me. I just returned from a marvelous treatment from Henny Nouwen, one of those massage therapists who has brains in her fingertips. I totally depend on my weekly treatments with her to keep me moving and breathing. I think I would freeze into a stone statue where it not for her work on me every week. Henny has remarkable abilities and talents.
I am someone who can't sit for very long since I tend to get pain in my back and hips if I do. But this past week end I attended the entire retreat, Friday night, all day Saturday including Saturday night, all day Sunday and even a meeting on Sunday evening. I was tired Sunday evening, but, to my amazement, my back felt fine! Very unusual. I credit my good fortune with the fact I have been seeing Henny for body work every other week recently. I saw Henny last year for some stiffness and pain in my neck and shoulders. I had a couple of sessions with her, and the pain was greatly improved. She also worked on my energy conductivity for the first time ever, I could feel the energy moving in my body. It was quite strong and quite remarkable. I now know what bodily conductivity feels like which has been helpful for my own yoga practice of conductivity. I think that working with energy conductivity is one of the areas where Henny excels.
